In Putrajaya, appeals court allows former Master Chef Malaysia finalist facing murder charge to be released on bail
Etiqah bersama suaminya, Mohammad Ambree Yunos Unos, 40, yang juga seorang kontraktor berdepan dakwaan membunuh pembantu rumah mereka, Nur Afiah Daeng Damin, 28, di sebuah rumah di Amber Tower, Lido Avenue, Jalan Lintas, Penampang antara 10 Disember dan 13 Disember 2021.
Panel tiga hakim terdiri daripada Datuk Lee Swee Seng, Datuk Supang Lian dan Datuk M.
He applied for Etiqah to be given bail under Section 388 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which states that the court may direct any person under the age of 16 years or any woman or any sick person accused of such an offence be released on bail.
Under Section 302 of the Penal Code, the offence is punishable by death, upon conviction.
The charge provides for the death sentence upon conviction.
According to the charge sheet, they were alleged to have killed 28-year-old Nur Afiah Daeng Damin at a house in Amber Tower, Lido Avenue, Jalan Lintas, Penampang, between Dec 10 and Dec 13, last year.
